IIT Roorkee and HESCO jointly aims to promote rural infrastructure and livelihoods of rural areas

The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Roorkee has signed an agreement with the Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO) for improving the livelihood Opportunities and promoting rural infrastructure facilities in rural communities. Both IIT Roorkee and HESCO will work together in a joint submission for cooperation in Training, Education, Research and deployment activities mainly in rural areas.

IIT Roorkee

They will primarily focus on Research and development projects from various Government and Non Government funding organizations to enhance rural communities, training and workshops with sustainable development.

HESCO

The collaboration will promote better management  and they will hold Joint training programmes on water resource management, Food security, Agriculture Security, Drinking water Security, Livelihood Security, Energy Security, Natural Hazards ,climate and also on various different natural issues. They will aim to target development of agriculture for the progress of rural communities in the Himalayan Region.
