According to Unified District Information System for Education plus (UDISE+) report The Total number of students enrolled from Primary level education to Secondary level education has increased to 28.32 lakhs and has reached to 25.38 crore in 2020-21 compared to 25.10 crore enrolment in 2019-20 on school education in India.

UDISE+ took data from the schools which was developed by the Department of School Education and Literacy in the year 2018-19. The aim is to overcome the issues related to manual data filling format and loading data in to computer in the UDISE+ system since 2012-13
The improvements have made in the areas related to data capture, data mapping and data verification.GER also known as Gross Enrolment Ratio measures the general level of participation has improved at all levels of Education compared to previous years. The number of non teaching staff has also improved over the years.
Apart from these there are several other improvements have been made in School Infrastructure. Compare to 2020-21 57,799 schools have provided electricity facility. Drinking water facilities in Schools was also increased. The students of government aided private school students have shifted to government schools during this year.
