Tamil Nadu Government would be providing 2GB free data per day to College Students so as to facilitate students for Online Learning. The Students will get free data from January 2021 to April 2021. Colleges remain closed in Tamil Nadu due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced Free Data Plan for students. Almost 9.69 lakh students would benefit from this scheme.

| Free Data Package for Students |
Students enrolled in Government and Government aided arts and science colleges , Polytechnic colleges, Engineering colleges as well as scholarship funded private colleges are eligible for this scheme. The above mentioned students will get free data package from the Tamil Nadu Government.
Even though Colleges have reopened in Tamil Nadu the attendance of students remains voluntary. Online Classes are continuing in the state. The free data package will ensure that students have access to online content and classes as well.
