Indian Institute of Technologies should focus more on major research programs through the development of various latest technologies that will help to boost the Indian rural economy, The Vice President Mr Venkaiah Naidu addressed the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of IIT Delhi and said that all higher educational institutes need to focus on finding optimal and sustainable solutions to problems faced by nation from various climate changes and other health issues.

Indian Institute of Technology Institutes will be counted among the World's best institutes as and when they start impacting the societies problems and lives around them. IIT's Research should focus on making the lives of people more comfortable and shows better prospects of their progress in equitable order. IIT;s should draw their attention towards the boosting of rural economy and also problems faced by Rural Farmers in India. It is essential to produce Nutritious and protein-rich food by various means of enhanced Agri production methods.
More than 50 percent of population are still dependent on Agriculture. It is very much essential for IITs to form a symbolic relationship with the Industry to develop cutting edge technologies in various areas that act as mentors in guiding many researchers.This kind of collaboration will help in fast-tracking of projects and produce quick results.
Mr Venkaiah Naidu also stresses more on investing in Research and Development activities that helps in solving many day-today societal problems.He also urges the importance of private sector collaboration along with industry sectors like CII and Assocham along with academia in identifying such interesting projects and fund them liberally.
The New Educational Policy will also helps in Promoting India as a global study destination point for Students and Learners. Among Top 500 Global Institutions only eight Indian institutions are named in the list. We need to improve the standards and quality of education of our learning to become India as a Viswa Garu and also as a World leader in various technological domain with specific demographic advantage for the highly talented youth across the country.
