New Educational Policy got approval from the cabinet and Government is expecting positive response from all sections of the society. Ramesh Pokhroyal Nishank and Prakash Javadekar addressed the media regarding this new policy. The Consultation process was started in the year 2015 and the final policy was assounced today. .New Educational Policy aim is to shape students with quality education and prepare them to face the challenges in this competitive new age world.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) will be renamed as Ministry of Education.Central Government is planning to implement The New System of School Education has to be changed into Three stages. The Education system is changed into 5+3+3+4 Format. The First Five years of school will be considered as Foundation Stage which includes three years of Pre-Primary School and Classes 1 and 2. The Next Three years i.e from Classes 3 to 5 will be considered as Preparatory stage. Later three years i.e Classes 6 to 8 will be considered as Middle stage and from Classes 9 to 12 will be considered as Secondary Stage.
Mathematical and Analytical Skills will be given top preference in course curriculum. Students will be allowed to choose Flexible Curriculum, Creative combination of co-curriculum subjects like Sports, Arts, Science, Vocational and science at same level. They are even allowed to take coding from Class 6 itself. The Board Examination Patterns will also change. It is aimed to test the Application knowledge level of student which covers both dewcriptive and objective exams.
Life Skills will be top priority and it should be taught to students every year and AI-based assessment will be given to student. UG Colleges will become even more autonomous. By 2040 all Higher Education Institutes will become Multi-Disciplinary Institutes with more than 3000+ students. Music, Arts and Literature subjects should also be taught in Colleges.By 2030 there shall be atleast one large multidisciplinary Higher Education Institute in every district. Central Government aims to increase the gross enrolment ratio to 50 % by
2035 which ensures multidisciplinary and holistic education with
flexibilities
New Education Policy follows three language formula in which Sanskrit to be mainstreamed. Vocational Education system will also be integrated into all schools. Higher Education Institutes will be further categorized.Students will also be provided with multiple entry and exit options with appropriate certification. An Academic bank of Credits will be setup to enable digital storage of credits earned from various recognized Universites so that degrees from Higher Educational Institutes canbe awarded by taking accounts credits earned.
The New policy will focus mainly on Multi-Lingual Education System
which means Teacher will teach in regional Indian Languages along with
English Language. To Pursure Research MPhil to be discontinued and for
all courses PhD level is to be interdisciplinary. The Fee system will be
fixed for all Universities. Common Norms will be given for all public
and Private Education sectors.Lok Vidya, an important Vocational Knowledge developed in India which will be made available to access students through integration into Vocational educational courses.
Public Investment in the Education Sector will reach to 6% of GDP from the current 4.43% of GFP including State and Central Government. All Colleges will evolve as Multi-Disciplinary Education Institutes. Central Government is planning to set up National Technology Forum to impart Knowledge Online along with Special Education Zones at disadvantaged locations.
Technology will be part of education and e-course content will also be available in 8 major regional languages. IIT's are also asked to move towards holistic approach with more arts and humanities education. Foreign Universities will also setup campuses in India and they are faciliated to operate in India. All Education institutions will be audited as "Non Profit Entities".
