Ahead the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Japan with Shinzo Abe on Japan Foundation,New Delhi and Banaras Hindu University(BHU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Japanese language in the city on Thursday.

The Memorandum was signed on Thursday by BHU Registrar KP Upadhyay and Japan Foundation Director general ,Kaoru Miyamoto.As per the MoU Japan Foundation will provide a faculty at the department of foreign languages and also bear the emouluments as a Japanese native salary support programme.The foundation will provide all the course materials and books of Japanese language.
The Chairman of International Centre,BHU Prof HB Srivastava said " The BHU has signed 49 MoU's with International universities like National Institute of Material Sciences,Japan Kansai University,Kyoto University,Shimane University,National Institute of Material Sciences,Japan etc.as a part of promotion of International language programme,
