Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani in Rajyasabha said that there are six special research projects which includes 'Dictionary of Martyrs: India's Freedom Struggle(1857-1947)' are indicated in Indian Council for Historical Research (ICHR).

For 'Dictionary of Martyrs:India's Freedom Struggle which began in 2009 and is expected to be completed by this December end The government had already spent Rs1.5 crores on this project.Another Project named 'Towards Freedom: Documents on the movement for Independence in India was sanctioned in 1973 and was completed with the expenditure of around Rs 2.45 crore.
Other projects which are underway include 'Documents on Economic
History During the British Rule in Northern and Western India in the
late Nineteenth Century: Quality of Life', 'Translation of Dutch Sources
(1617-30)' and 'Survey, Collection and Documentation of Archival
Sources of North East India', all of which started in 2012. Another ongoing project at ICHR is 'Dictionary of Socio Economic and
Administrative Terms in Indian/South Asian Inscriptions', which was
sanctioned in 1990.
