National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February each year to mark the discovery of the great Indian physicist C.V.Raman's Raman effect on February 28 1928. He received Noble Prize in the year 1930.National Science Day is celebrated in India to convey the message about the importance of Science in daily life.

| NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY |
The main objective of celebrating National Science day is that it resembles all the efforts and achievements in Science for the welfare of humans.It will also provide a chance to discuss various issues and new implementations in the field of science. This will encourage enthusiastic people to know and popularize more about science and technology.
Initially National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) requested the government to declare February 28th as National Science Day(NSD). NSD is celebrated all over India in Schools, Colleges, Universities and other research institutions. In this day NCSTC has also announced the National Science Popularization awards to recognize and honour the best efforts and achivements made in the field of science.
