Odisha government has decided to gift "Happiness Kits" to students to boost their immunity. Happiness Kits comprises of Nutritional Food Items such as Peanuts, Jaggery, Chickpeas,Turmeric powder, Wheat, cinnamon, cardamom and biscuits. Apart from these stationary items like Pen, Notepad, Pencil, Sanitary Napkin, Toothpaste,Iodised Salt and Soap.would also be a part of the kit.

The distribution of Happiness Kits is all set to begin during the first week of February. Initially it would cover five districts in initial phase Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Sundargarh and Nayagarh. The schools in Odisha are likely to reopen this month.
As according to School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash, At least 1,916 schools and 1.83 Lakh students of five districts will benefit from the Initial phase. This program will be extended in the other districts in the later phase. Over all 30 Lakh children of around 60,000 schools would be able to avail this Happiness Kits. The government has approved a proposal to assign this Happiness Kits distribution to Akshaya Patra Foundation which supplies midday meals to schools.
