Rupali Patil has become the first student of Mumbai University to be awarded a Doctorate degree online. She is the first student to have appeared and cleared Viva for Ph.D. Rupa Patil is doing research on "Documented Signal Retrieval and Identification" under the guidance of Ramesh Karandikar from Somaiya Engineering College. Her research mainly deals with weather forecasting and meteorological aspects.
Mumbai University has conducted his first online Viva examination for Rupali Patil, an Engineering graduate from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology. Rupali Patil is basically an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering branch student She has appeared for Viva to defend her Ph.D. Examination Thesis in front of IIT Bombay and Jondhale College of Engineering Examiners on May 27, 2020, during the nationwide lockdown.
After the Viva Rupali Patil said that she hadn't expected to have Online Viva. It went very well. for one and a half hours. External Examiners has asked around 12-14 questions. According to the rules and guidelines issued by UGC, Mumbai University is conducting online Viva for Ph.D. Students. Mumbai University is also planning to conduct Viva for Eight more subjects in Science and Technology and Four more Subjects in Anthropology very soon.
