Central Government has given permission to conduct Class 10 and 12 Examinations

Central Government Home Secretary Mr. Ajay Bhalla said that HRD Minister has allowed conducting board exams for classes 10 and 12. Central Government has taken this decision after several states and other Central boards requested the government.

Class 10 and Class 12 Examinations

In a letter sent to states, Mr. Ajay Bhalla said that Government has taken the decision by considering the interest of a large number of students the exemption was given to respective boards to conduct exams for Classes 10 and 12. Home Minister Amit Shah has also announced that Permission was being given to respective board authorities with few conditions like social distancing, face mask,  Thermal Screening, Sanitizers, and the limited number of students per center along with necessary safety measures.

The Central government had been prohibited to open the schools under the lockdown measures due to Covid-19. The High court of Bombay at Goa sought an immediate reply from the central government regarding the conducting of exams during the lockdown extension period. Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan Kerala, Goa, and Telangana are among the states where the board examination had to be abandoned because of the nationwide lockdown imposed by the central government in the last week of March. 

Among all the states Goa will be the first state to conduct the Class 10 examination. The Goa High Court allowed the state government to conduct Class 10 exams from Thursday. Central Government wants to ensure that there are no examination centers in the containment zones. Special bus transportation facilities  may be arranged by the respective states for the students to the examination centers.
