and Accessible libraries in Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions to Visually
impaired and disabled students could soon be a reality as the government is directed
to implement the Himachal Pradesh High Court Orders.

Advisory Board Member, Chairman of NGO, Umang Foundation Ajai Srivastava said
that Himachal Pradesh High court has ordered the government to provide free
education to disabled students to the university level. He also told that the
letter has been drafted to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur regarding
the court orders.
The court had directed the Himachal Pradesh state to make
necessary rules within six months span of time. The court has also ordered the government
to provide computers with talking software, Scanner, E-books and other
assistive devices to Visually disabled challenged students.
Public Interest Litigation (PIL) Writ
petition was filed by students of Government college Ghumarwin four years ago
and the Himachal Pradesh High court has established that it is the fundamental
right of the disabled students to get the Free Education includes all
professional and vocational courses up to university level for Visually
impaired and disabled students in the state.
