The primary focus of Government of India's New Education Policy (NEP) will be on girls education. The NEP was framed in 1986 and revised in 1992. The aim is to strengthen public institutions is to address regional equality by building a thrust of Knowledge along with special attention on language,extracurricular or co-curricular activities and mathematics at school level for girls. The New policy is focused on doing away with inequality in education. For Higher education the focus will be on affordabilty and access.

The Government of India is planning to implement a "Modern Education Policy" before May 2019. ISRO chief K. Kasturirangan is heading the committee comprises of eight members and preparing the draft which is going to submit to Central government in March. The New policy is getting shaped at National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) office Bengaluru. Many of the new schemes presented by this government is going to appear on this New Education Policy.
The committee is focusing on setting up higher educational instituions in the regions they are lacking.The NEP is likely to come into force from April 2019. The NEP might not bring cheer to Education Players in Private Industry as it cracks to whip against commercialization which includes private coaching regulation. The HRD will deliberate on the report and make its final suggestions to the cabinet ahead of Parliament monsoon session
