The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was released by the Union Education Minister Mr Dharmendra Pradhan today. All categories include the top 100 institutions across the country.NIRF India Rankings 2022 was announced for ten categories

JNU has secured 2nd position in University category and 10th position in all over India. St Xavier college stood 8th in the country among the best colleges category.Mirinda House college is named as the best college ranking followed by The Hindu college and Presidency College Bengaluru. Jadavpur University and Calcutta University are at first and second positions among all State aided universities in India.
In the Engineering category, IIT Madras has secured top rank followed by IIT Delhi and Bombay. IIT Madras also stood top in Overall Category also. In Management category IIM Ahmedabad got top position All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi has secured no 1 position in Medical college category followed by Postgraduate institute of Medical institute and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh and Christian Medical College Vellore.
National Law School of India University, Bangalore has been ranked no 1 in the best law institute category followed by National Law University New Delhi and Symbiosis Law School Pune.Among the best research institutions IISC Bangalore has clinched top position followed by IIT Madras and IIT Delhi.
NIRF Ranking Parameters
The Ranking Parameters are broadly categorized to rank various institutes in 11 categories and subject domains. These ranks are based on specific India Centric parameters. As according to NIRF website are Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation outcomes, Peer Perception, Outreach and inclusivity
The weighted average will differ with various categories. This year there is a record number of (7,254) institutions have participated in NIRF India rankings. Every year NIRF India is proposing one or more categories as according to the demands from various institutions to rank in their respective streams.
Accreditation is a 5 year comprehensive assessment of the institution with absolute grade where as Ranking is an yearly process and it is the relative to other institutions that are similarly placed.NIRF score is a complete reflection of the position where the college or university or institution stands with other institutions in a similar category.
