Parents signed petition to continue e-learning mode this year for the safety and welfare of their children.

Over 2.13 Lakh Parents in India have signed the petition demanding that the Schools/Colleges/Universities/Educational Institutes shouldnot be reopened unless the Covid-19 Situation improves or a Vaccine is ready.

Signed Petition

Schools, Colleges, Universities, and Educational Institutes have been closed since March when the central government has announced a Nationwide Lockdown as a part of preventing the outbreak of the Covid-19 Pandemic situation. Initially, the lockdown was imposed for 21 days, and however, it was extended until Sunday.

Central Government has announced step by step instructions for easing of restrictions across India while the lockdown will continue in containment zones till June 30. Regarding the Opening of Educational Institutions, Colleges and Schools, governments will take a decision in July after consulting with the respective state governments and Parents. Based on their feedback the government will proceed. However, this announcement made parents think the move is highly unsafe and it is not the right time to open in these severe situations.

Parents expressed their opinions regarding this decision that They can take several precautions when the kids are there at home. However, they will not ensure when children go to school. School Buses, Classroom desks, Lunchboxes everywhere there will be fear. Moreover, cases are increasing rapidly in India, and it's not the right time to send children to schools.

When the lockdown was announced neither students/parents nor teachers are prepared for the latest technological interventions. In these two months, some ground has been made and Teachers and students are interacting with each other with the help of technology, and the process is now streamlined. It is advisable for governments to continue this smooth process flow for some more time till the situation becomes normal.

The petition by parents suggested governments continue e-learning mode for this academic year. As most of the schools are claiming that they are doing excellent job in the virtual e-learning mode of teaching to students and the government wants to order schools to continue e-learning procedures until the situation becomes normal  by considering the safety and welfare of the students.
