HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal asks IITs to hold special placement drives for the students affected by Covid-19 situation

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will hold special placement drives for students affected by amidst Covid-19. The students Job offer letters got cancelled due to Coronavirus outbreak and lock down.

The Union Human Resources and Development Minister Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank  said that The country's brightest minds will have an opportunity to work with some of the greatest companies and it will also help recruiters in times of crisis which will end up not having the job right now. He also said that he asked IIT Directors to hold special placement drives for students.

The Minister asked Recruiters not to withdraw jobs offered to students of various institutions at the time of placement drives. His appeal came after few job offers at the Indian institute of Management (IIMs) got revoked due to the serious effect of Caronavirus Pandemic. 

The Minister has directed 23 IITs to ensure the job offers are not affected just because of this situation. The Minister also requested the companies not to rescind the placement offers given to students during the placement time. A few months delay may be fine but please don't complicate the lives of brightest children
