CBSE has introduced Applied Mathematics as elective subject for Classes 11 and 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to introduce Applied Mathematics subject for Classes 11 and 12. Applied Mathematics will be an option for those who has closed Mathematics in Class 10 and they wont allow to pursue regular Mathematics Subject for classes 11 and 12 for Board Exam.

Applied Mathematics

Applied Mathematics will be the new elective subject for classes 11 and 12 for the academic session starting in 2020 and will be applicable for Board exams from the next session.It will be more of practical in nature. CBSE has introduced Applied Mathematics at the senior secondary classes for those who don't want to opt higher studies like engineering. This will best suit for students that will develop 21st century competencies like logical thinking, Mathematical thinking, logical reasoning and problem solving skills and also for students who want to pursue their career in Science. They can also be aimed to use this mathematical experience in the field of business, social sciences and economics.

The Applied Mathematics is aimed at developing the basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical & statistical tools and their applications. Mathematics is widely used in the higher studies in the fields of Social Science, commerce,Economics and many more.
