Bachelor of Engineering career is on downtrend as the number of registrations for Joint Entrance Examination is going down for four years. In 2015 The total number of registrations for JEE was 14.3 Lakh, In 2016 the number of registrations was 13.2 Lakh, In 2017 it was 13.3 Lakh. Recently in 2018 This number was reduced to 12.8 Lakh.

The total number of Vacant seats was gradually increasing from 2015 to 2018. Earlier in 2015,2016,2017 the number of vacancies are 3,50 and 96. In 2018 the total number of vacancies are 121. As according to Human resource development written reply to parliament the total number of registrations was decreased by 15.3 % in four years.
As according to the present situation 10,998 seats are available in 23 IITs across the country. The impact of various JEE registrations has greater impact in IIT admissions. The government is planning to scrap unpopular courses and to add more number of seats to popular courses.
