The University of Hyderabad is recognized as one of the best premier universities in South India and Telangana. As according to US News and World Report 2017 edition it was recently featured in the Top Global Universities in India. Punjab University and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore are the two best institutes in India. University of Hyderabad was ranked sixth among the full fledged universities. It was ranked 14th among the best global universities in India. Including University of Hyderabad there are eight other universities which are centrally funded and were able to make it in the list. The ranking was based on the research performance and rated by the members of academic fraternity across Asia and the World.
The report also pointed out that students who wish to study in India can enroll themselves in these top ranked universities. University of Hyderabad was founded in 1974 and is regarded as a premier public research university across the country. The University was also awarded with the Visitor's Award as the best central university in 2015.
