Tier-2 cities has registered a positive Year-on-Year growth in an E-recruitment activity




Education continues to lead industries with a Year-on-Year growth of 67 percent in September followed by BPO/ITES sector recorded second highest Year-on-Year with an improved growth rate of 49 Percent. Hiring activity in BPO/ITES Sector has picked up in the past months. It has registered a 22 percent growth between June and September 2016.

Online recruitment activity in the IT - Hardware, Software has slowed significantly.  The long term-growth momentum in IT - Hardware, Software moderated from 44 percent in August 2016 to 31 percent in September 2016. Online opportunities slipped below the six-month ago by one percent. Healthcare, Bio Technology, Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals has also registered an improved growth of 33% while Banking, Financial Services and Insurance registered a growth rate of 28%.


Industry Jobs

Printing/Packaging, Advertising, Market Research and Public Relations industries growth rate was declined by 6%. The Year-on-Year growth in Travel and Tourism recruitment growth rate has gone down by eight percent for the first time after 2013.  NGO/ Social Services sectors has also experienced a declined growth rate of 12%. Production and Manufacturing sectors also continued deepest annual decline of 18 percent among all major industry sectors. Ecommerce sector has also continued to chart progressive slow down where the growth rate eased eight points from 19 percent to 11 percent.

Industry Year-over-year Trends:18 industries out of the 27 monitored by the Index registered a positive year-on-year growth. City-wise data shows a steep growth for tier-II cities with Jaipur (up 30 percent) followed by Ahmedabad (up 29 percent) steering ahead of metros such as Delhi (up by 26 percent) and Mumbai (up by 23 percent).

As far as Occupational Online demand job roles are concerned BPO/ITES sector has an increased demand and has registered a 66 percent growth from past one year. There is a huge demand for customer service professionals and senior management professionals. Purchase/ Logistics / Supply chain has registered a notable 32 percent Year-on-Year growth. Hospitality, Travel, Arts and creatives has registered a declined growth of 10% and 7% respectively.
