Michelle Obama Suggests Countries to work on "Let Girls Learn" to remove disparities for Women education.


United States of America's First Lady Michelle Obama, Wife of Barack Obama has appreciated the Steps taken by Indian government for the Women education and empowerment programs like "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Providing scholarships , mentor-ship and other innovative programs that reduces the barriers for girl students to continue education.

She also suggested the countries to work on specific development programs like "Let Girls Learn"  to remove the disparities of women education. During the event The World bank also announced USD 2.5 billion in support for women education for coming five years.

Indian Ambassador to US Arun K Singh Said " Indian government is primarily focusing on providing high quality, accessible and affordable higher secondary education to women by ensuring compliance in removing social- economic, disability barriers and removal of genders.With the National Incentive scheme which provides gifts to young women from poor backgrounds who has completed 18 years and 10th grade exams. For girls who have completed elementary education bicycles were provided.

Separate Hostels were constructed for girls residing in remote areas and  Almost 96% of Separate toilets have been built for girls in secondary schools.More and More Women teachers are being added in schools.Government is providing belief to women  in transforming quality education to women that changes their life prospects.

In order to make this happen the government has set goals to achieve 90% of enrollment by 2017 and universal retention by 2020.He also said that the government has taken necessary steps to improve the enrollment of girls from 58.70 to 78.94 in previous five years and Gender gap was reduced and Gender parity has  increased from 0.88 to 1.
