Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Ordered Private Schools to refund the excess amount collected as Fees

New Delhi government Directorate of Education (DoE) ordered two private schools to refund the excess amount collected as fee hike which was done with out prior permission from the Education Department.The Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia directed the DoE to take necessary action against Delhi Public School Branches in Mathura Road and Rohini.The Schools are violating the orders given by Supreme court and  Right to Education Act by hiking the school fees with out the prior permission from the Government. He also mentioned regarding the schools compelling students to buy textbooks from Private publishers which is against the rules of education and CBSE.

The Parents has filed detailed complaint to The Deputy Chief Minister about the fee hike by 13-20 percent during 2016-17 Academics with out any prior permission from the DoE and the school has compelled students to buy Textbooks from Private publishers. Government also issued showcause notices to these two branches of Delhi Public School and asked for proper explanation for allegations regarding the fee hikes and also violation of rules of education and CBSE.

Saumya Gupta Director, Education has ordered the school management to refund the entire fee collected  for New academic session 2016-17 to the parents and the school doesn't have any right to increase the fee structure without prior approval from DoE. All  private aided schools which was built on land alloted  for concessional rates by Government agencies shall not increase the fees as according to the rules and with out prior permission of DoE.The Delhi Public School Prinicipal Manohar Lal of Mathura Road branch said that she hasn't seen the order sent by DoE but we will follow as according to the directions of DoE.
