“The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) have done an Excellent research work and we will not be complacent at any point of time and we will further build up the research work done by the organizations” said Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth sciences Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal.
“To Provide a Hassle-free environment to scientists to engage themselves in research which lays bridge between lab and the people” Says Bansal.Addressing the Media while taking charge of his ministry he praised the work carried out by different departments and my endeavour is to provide the social economic benifits to the people of the country.

Bansal also stated that “The real challenge in his ministry would be to carry forward the work which has been done by predecessor”.There are schemes and awards being organized by the ministry for school students to spot the talent in students and the ministry is geared to promote the culture of science and society among students.
Born on July 16, 1948 in Sunam District Sangrur of Punjab, Bansal did his graduation in Science and L.L.B. He held several positions and served as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha during 1984-90 and was elected to the 10th,13th, 14th and 15th Lok Sabha. He has been member of various committees at the state and centre. He has organized youth festivals, inter-state camps, N.S.S camps, medical aid camps in rural areas, legal aid programmes for poor and blood donation camps. Bansal has traveled many countries as member of Indian delegations in various capacities.
